Sing A Song 05:34
Sing A Song When the music comes upon you And the rhythm moves your feet When the melody surrounds you And your soul stirs to the beat Sing a song, Sing along, Sing a song all day long We all live upon this planet Scattered across the land And though we speak in different languages Music we all understand Sing a song, Sing along, Sing a song all day long We sing when we are happy We sing because we're glad We sing to chase away the blues We sing when we are sad Sing a song, Sing along, Sing a song all day long If you want to live a full life You've got to do it day by day Treat your neighbor as yourself Love, dance, sing and play Sing a song, Sing along, Just sing a song all day long

Body Language Tap, tap, tap your foot now, no doubt my crime's been booked Wag, wag, wag your finger, and I know my goose is cooked Give me your hairy eyeball, to run would be absurd 'Cause your body language says so much, you don't need to say a word Chorus Words, words, words, so necessary And words, words, words can educate But words, words, words don't always carry What your body language can communicate Roll, roll, roll your eyes at me, I know I've been dismissed Smile, smile, smile that smile of yours, and I feel I've just been kissed Fold your arms and stare me down, it's clear you are perturbed 'Cause your body language says so much, you don't need to say a word Chorus Shake, shake, shake your head now, tell me yes or no Wink, wink, wink and nod nod, lets me know I'm in the know Everything you're telling me, I haven't really heard 'Cause your body language says so much, you don't need to say a word Chorus

New Pavement 04:03
New Pavement Would you just look at this road It's a crying shame Ruts that'll make your tires explode Holes no shocks can tame Even the repair jobs Are rough as they can be Asphalt piled in great big blobs This torture test's not for me I want some new pavement Black as a vein of coal I'm talking new pavement Worth its weight in gold New, new gold Unmarked, low shoulder, slippery when wet Smooth sailing, unfailing speed is what you get With new pavement My hand is out the window Cutting through the breeze Tires are humming down below I'm doing just what I please Cruising down the blacktop Smoothness is everything I never ever want to stop Just so I have one thing New pavement Black as a vein of coal I'm talking new pavement Worth its weight in gold New, new gold Unmarked, low shoulders, slippery when wet Smooth sailing, unfailing speed is what you get With new pavement

I Heard The News Today I heard the news today, the polar caps will melt away And all the coastlines flood, that's what they say Most scientists agree, it will be a catastrophe All caused by people just like you and me Pollution, solution, it seems that we don't have one What in the world have we done? Populations, congratulations, the sky may never be so blue And what on earth must we do? I heard the news today, some people walked the streets to say They hope this nonsense soon will go away Some learned folk spoke too, their data says it's C02 And other green house gases in the brew Fossil fuels burn in every factory and car Pollutants trap heat from the light of our star If no one wants to quit their gas guzzling car We'll soon be like a bunch of bugs in a jar I heard the news today, it's never been this warm in May In fact it's getting warmer day by day Our leaders met today and this is what they had to say "We've got to change our ways without delay, blah, blah, blah" Atmospherics, hysterics, the heating up has just begun What in the world have we done? Global warming, violent storming, where will we be when it's all through? And what on earth must we do? Yes, what on earth must we do?

My Mama Told Me Hey Mister Devil I'm on the level We got to strike a truce 'Cause if we don't I know my mama's Gonna fire up my caboose Hey Mister Satan There's no debating Get behind me and please don't push 'Cause if you do I know my mom Will do a number on my tush Chorus My mama told me best behave yourself If you know what's good for you Well I do and I should and I would if I could But it seems impossible to do (I just can't seem to behave myself) Hey little brother Just like my other Why don't you keep your hands to yourself 'Cause if you don't I'm warning you It could be dangerous to your health Hey little brothers You know our Mother's Gonna give us a piece of her mind 'Cause if you don't keep your hands off my stuff She'll take a piece of my behind Chorus Hey Mama, Mama Let's stop the trauma We've got to cut a deal 'Cause if we don't I know my little butt is never ever gonna heal Hey Mama Mama Let's end the drama Let me make it perfectly clear I'll skip a meal Or go to my room If you will keep your hand off my rear Chorus

Winter Through My Window Winter through my window Snow upon the ground Snowflake upon snowflake Without a sound Breathing on my window Fog upon the pane Hoping that the snow won't Change to rain Clouds stole all the shadows from the trees The winds have harshly stripped them of their leaves And now the snow has brought these scarecrows to their knees But Spring requires of them these yearly fees Leaning on my window Warm against the cold A chill has come upon me And I'm feeling old Darkness fills my window Three days, still it snows Sleep begins to take me As my eyelids close

I Believe In Listening Sitting right here Quiet as a mouse Quiter than dust In the corner of my house Sitting real still Closing my eyes I can't be seen 'Cause I have disappeared Chorus Seeing is believing I have heard it said I believe in listening There's more than eyes can see I can't see the clock Its hands still must turn Who knows how long I can sit this still It's quiet in here I think I could Hear a pin drop Evan a tear drop Chorus Listening for sounds I hear my heart Pumping my blood From my head down to my toes I'm happy inside I think I feel A smile on my face I can even feel you smiling too Chorus

Hey, Stumpy, Watch This Hey Stumpy, I got a plan Let's build an airplane Launch off a ramp and learn how to land Won't it be grand I got the brains, and you've got the smarts All that we need is a bunch of old parts No, I'm not insane Hey, let's launch the plan--Watch this! Chorus Stumpy Thicket went with Bo Britches To Urgent Care he got 17 (29, 49, 59, 102) stitches What a nightmare Man, I'm never going back there I'm going to turn over a new leaf Always careful as a jewel thief From now on Hey Stumpy, been thinking again Let's build a dragster with wheels that spin And smoke and squeal Man, I'm talking unreal We'll take that lawn mower rusting away Juice up the engine, jacked all the way You'll see, my man It's a foolproof plan--Watch this! Hey Stumpy, listen to this I've got a plan and this time it can't miss Let's make a chute You know, a big parachute A bit of clothesline and a bed sheet I'll jump off the shed and land on my feet Ah, for heaven's sake It's a piece of cake--Watch this! Chorus

Put Me On Your Shoulders I'm so small but you are oh so tall (you are so small) Let me hold your fingers so I won't fall (so you won't fall) If you put me down I'll fret and cry (don't fret and cry) And you'll wipe the tears out of my eyes Chorus Pick me up And put me on your shoulders Carry me All the way home (repeat) Bounce me up and down, I'll hold on tight (I'll hold you tight) Run around the yard pretending flight (pretending flight) If I bump my chin you'll comfort me (I'll comfort you) Tickle me and make me laugh with glee Chorus When I'm on your shoulders I feel bold (you are so bold) But the air up here is kind of cold (it's not so cold) Take me in the house, watch for my head (I'll watch your head) I'll be tired but not ready for bed Chorus

How Many Times Have You Done This? How many times have you done this? How many times today? How many times have you done this? About a hundred times I'd say How many times have you gone a'looking when you got there you hadn't a clue 'Till you went back where you came from you didn't know what you came here to do Hey hey hey hey...day after day Well lately been trying to pull myself together Pay no mind to what some people say Learned I can't do a lot about stormy weather Trying to make the most of every day How many times have you been there? How many times I say How many times have you been there About a hundred times a day How many times have you gone a'looking when you got there you hadn't a clue 'Till you went back where you came from you didn't know what you came here to do Hey hey hey hey...day after day Well now, some folk seem to know right where they're going Others wander lost it would appear But those who know exactly where they came from Are the ones who seem to know just why they're here How many times have you done this? How many times today? How many times have you done this? About a hundred times I'd say How many times have you gone a'looking when you got there you hadn't a clue 'Till you went back where you came from you didn't know what you came here to do Hey hey hey hey...day after day

about

This album is a compilation of songs I've written over the years, one back in the '70s! Most are more current inspirations, including one about global warming. More orchestrated than the songs on my first album, these songs are upbeat and joyful, with the exception of Winter Through My Window, which is evocative and a bit melancholy. That, however, is contrasted by the Ray Stevens-like, Hey, Stumpy, Watch This, which was inspired by the real-life activities of some of my brothers and me. I hope you enjoy these songs, I've certainly enjoyed putting them together.

about

William Morris (aka Lanny) Lambdin Amherst, Virginia

I grew up in a house that was always filled with music, from opera and hymns to musicals and the symphonies of the classical composers. As a consequence, my head has always been full of tunes and my song-writing has flowed from that wealth of music as well as the rock and blues I have gravitated to as an adult. My inner child stays close by, so my creations are mostly for kids - of all ages. ... more
