I'm off on a journey
a journey that leads to the stars
I'm leaving my friends, my home
but I'm not going alone

Traveling faster than sound
I'm afraid to look down
The thunder of rockets
my eyes in their sockets pound

I hold fast the dreams of mankind
as we leave earth behind
Clasping the arm rests
I'm anxious to take up the quest

I see the blue of the skye
disappear from my eyes
Day turns to night
as the stars one by one shed their light

Nothing can get in our way

I'm outward bound
deafened by the sound of my heart
Finally free
like I dreamed I would be from the start

Clearly the universe seeks us
with beacons so bright
Revealing its secrets it greats us
